Service Description

DraftFilter provides AI-likelihood scoring, sentence-level feedback, rewrite tools, dashboard history, and API access for text submitted through the web app and public API. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how to contact us.

Information We Collect

We collect account information such as email address, authentication provider, verification state, plan, usage, API key metadata, dashboard history metadata, support messages, and operational records. Stripe processes payment details for paid plans and sends DraftFilter billing status, customer, subscription, invoice, receipt, and plan metadata needed to provide paid access.

We also collect submitted text, rewrite outputs, scores, labels, sentence spans, timestamps, request metadata, quota metadata, IP-derived or device-derived abuse signals, and diagnostics related to web, anonymous, signed-in, and API traffic.

Analytics, Error Tracking, And Session Replay

DraftFilter uses PostHog for product analytics, error tracking, and session replay. Session replay can record clicks, navigation, page state, and masked form content to debug the service; plaintext API keys are excluded from capture.

Data Retention And Detection Improvement

DraftFilter retains all text submitted to the service, including web scanner submissions, anonymous scans, signed-in dashboard traffic, and API requests.

We use retained text and related metadata to operate, secure, measure, and improve AI detection and rewrite quality.

This retention policy applies whether the text is submitted through the public scanner, dashboard, Humanizer, API keys, queued score jobs, synchronous scans, rewrite jobs, examples, or client integrations.

Anonymous Scan Handling

Anonymous scans use hashed identifiers for quotas, and the submitted text is retained. The hash helps enforce daily limits and protect the service from abuse. Anonymous users should assume submitted text is handled under the same retention and improvement policy as signed-in and API submissions.

API Traffic

API traffic follows the same policy. We retain text submitted through API requests and related job artifacts, metadata, usage records, and diagnostics. API customers are responsible for providing any required notices and obtaining any permissions needed before sending text to DraftFilter.

How We Use Information

We use information to provide the service, authenticate accounts and API keys, process billing, enforce limits, detect abuse, secure systems, provide support, debug incidents, audit usage, measure quality, calibrate thresholds, improve detection and rewrite behavior, comply with law, and communicate service updates.

How We Share Information

We share information with service providers that help run DraftFilter, including hosting, storage, authentication, analytics or diagnostics, email, support, and billing providers such as Stripe. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, to prevent abuse, or as part of a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

Data Deletion Requests

To request deletion of submitted text or account data, email support@draftfilter.com with enough detail for us to identify the account, API key, job, scan, or rewrite. History deletion hides items from dashboard view; retained text may continue to be kept and used under this retention policy unless DraftFilter confirms a deletion request or applicable law requires deletion.

Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect service data, but no online service can guarantee perfect security. You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and API keys and for promptly reporting suspected misuse.

Children

DraftFilter is not directed to children under 13. Do not use the service to submit information from children unless you have the legal authority and notices required to do so.

Disclaimers And Liability

DraftFilter is an assistive detection and rewrite service. Scores, labels, and outputs can be wrong and should be reviewed by a person before use in important decisions. The privacy commitments in this policy are subject to the limitations and disclaimers in the Terms of Service.

Governing Law

This policy and related disputes are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state or jurisdiction in which the DraftFilter operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this policy as the service changes. When changes are material, we will use reasonable efforts to provide notice through the website, dashboard, email, or API documentation. Continued use after the effective date means the updated policy applies to your use of the service.
